Who’s hiring at YYZ? March edition

Tim Horton’s team member (seasonal) 

Employer: SSP Canada Food Services  

Role: This work includes accurately processing orders and entering them into the point of sales system, receiving payments from customers and processing change, as well as following recipes and practicing portion control to prepare, garnish and present ordered items.  

Key requirements: Verbal and written communication skills are essential; the ability to read, speak and understand English and basic math skills to operate the cash register and make change are other necessary skills. A year's experience in food service is strongly preferred.

Airport operations officer 

Employer: Bombardier 

Role: As the go-to person for communications between Bombardier flight operations and other company departments, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Bombardier Pearson ramp and the airport operations center. You'll coordinate with multiple GTAA agencies with respect to accessing the airport for activities such as flights, ground runs and compass swings, among other tasks. 

Key requirements: At least three years of experience working in flight operations, an aviation management diploma (or relevant equivalent experience) and a restricted radio operators licence are some of the requirements.

Flight attendant 

Employer: Air Canada Rouge  

Role: Based in Toronto, this work involves preparing the plane for takeoff, greeting customers, delivering announcements, ensuring safety procedures are followed, providing snack, meal and beverage services and handling onboard incidents and emergencies with confidence and care, among other tasks. In-person interviews take place March 12 at the Alt Hotel Toronto Airport.  

Key requirements: These include a valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions, a high school diploma, living within 90 minutes of Pearson Airport (or the ability to relocate), internet access to view scheduling changes and the ability to meet the role's medical standards.

Apparel product developer 

Employer: Unisync Group  

Role: You'll plan, design and develop clothes for this corporate apparel company, ensuring the garments are developed efficiently and meet design and quality specifications. This onsite position includes reviewing production samples, preparing visual mock-ups of finished garments, communicating with factories to track the development process and participating in fittings and style reviews with the technical design team. 

Key requirements: A degree or diploma in fashion design, experience in apparel design, sketching, technical drawings and technical packages, and experience in conducting fit sessions are part of the requested experience.

Food Service Supervisor 

Employer: Restaurants Associates Compass Group Canada 

Role: This position oversees daily operations in a high-volume airline lounge, including supervising food and beverage operations to ensure smooth service delivery, overseeing food preparation to maintain quality and safety standards, managing inventory (including ordering supplies and controlling stock levels) and executing menus in collaboration with chefs. 

Key requirements: These include experience in restaurant or hotel management (particularly food and beverage operations), knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations, and excellent attention to detail.
