New Photography & Media Use Policy for Airport Workers

As a Pearson employee, you might want to share the great things you and your team are accomplishing in the workplace, but it’s essential to always consider the safety and security of our airport as well as our brand and reputation before doing so.

Introducing our Airport Worker Photography & Media Use Policy

Our new Airport Worker Photography & Media Use Policy outlines expectations for all Toronto Pearson employees, encouraging the use of sound judgment when posting online, in print or through any other form of media.

These expectations apply whether you are creating content personally or professionally. Whatever you share must not compromise the reputation, safety, security or protected information of Toronto Pearson, our partners, passengers and colleagues. This includes sharing on blogs, social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok, and in chat rooms, forums, print and other broadcast outlets.

What this means for you

Here’s what the policy includes:

  • Guidance on how to ensure that any online content does not compromise airport operations, infrastructure or security protocols.

  • Why you cannot create personal online content while you’re at work, and instead to maintain focus and uphold professional standards.

  • Instructions on how to use photos and videos meant for work-related purposes only: Unapproved content can compromise security and confidentiality.

  • Prohibited areas in which you should never take photos or videos.

Policy enforcement and our shared responsibility

Every person working at the airport is responsible for following this policy.

The GTAA will monitor and investigate any breaches of this policy and reserves the right to take appropriate actions to address violations. Additionally, you are responsible for following the terms and conditions of our Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), only accessing areas where you have a need and a right. Breaches of this policy are considered RAIC misuse, which may result in your RAIC being suspended or revoked.

Please read the Airport Worker Photography & Media Use Policy and review our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. For any questions you may have, please speak to your people leader.
